Year of Establishment: Honours in 2001, General in 1959 Infrastructure: Departmental room, Class room. Shares all other central infrastructure of the college like ICT enabled classroom, library with other departments. Intake capacity: 24 (UR 13, 5 SC, 1 ST, 2 OBC-A, 2 OBC-B, 1 PC)

Besides class room lectures the teaching learing process in the department includes educational excursion (laboratory visits), extented lectures delivered by eminent resource persons, interdisciplinary lab quiz and small projects or presentation by the students. Special attention in lab training and conduction of regular parent-teacher meetings facilitate students to communicate more comfortably with the faculties. Apart from scheduled examinations class tests are conducted at regular intervals to monitor the progress of the students.
