About Department

The Department of sanskrit intitially affiliated to the University of Calcutta and came into effect from the academic session 1959-60. In its initiation it introduced Undergraduate General Courses. In the year 2001, the department introduced undergraduate Honours Courses. In the yaer 2009, both Honours and general Courses were brought into an effect under the West Bengal State University.
