Year of establishment: 2018, as a General subject

Infrastructure: Departmental room, shares all other central infrastructure of the college like ICT enabled classroom, along with a special section of books in the central library  

 

Intake capacity: 

Brief of the Department: The department is involved in several academic and co-curricular activities such as participating in quiz competitions, NSS and NCC, essay-competitions, poster-presentation etc. Extension lectures and Special talks are organised every year. The department takes initiative to create awareness among the students regarding the condition of women in present society. The interdisciplinary nature of the subject is addressed by a collaborative teaching offered by faculties of several departments such as English, Bengali, Political Science, Sociology, History and Journalism.
