About Education Department

The department started its journey in the academic year 1988-89 with General UG course in Education. From the Academic year 2002-03, the department came up with Honours course in Education. Department of Education aims at holistic development of the students and also to provide value-oriented education among the students. Starting from the journey of the Department, there were numerous prominent scholars who were associated with this department. Most significant thing of this department is the consistency of students’ improvement in their performance and also in other academic activities. The department regularly organizes seminars, workshops, extension lectures, wall magazine competition etc. for the progress of quality of the students and encouraging research oriented mind-set among the students. Highly qualified teaching strength is also a significant aspect of this department. Year of establishment of the department is 1988-89 as a General subject and Honours in 2002-03. Infrastructure of the departmental consists of room, Departmental Seminar library and also shares all other central infrastructure of the college like ICT enabled classroom, library with other departments etc. Intake capacity for Honours is 58 (UR-35, SC-13, ST-4, OBC-A- 4, OBC-B- 2, PC- 3% of each category).
